We have been in Provo since the 6th of September and we are still looking for jobs. We live in a 600 sq. ft. apartment and it has one bedroom and thank goodness for a lot of storage in the "dungeon". As for the Apartment Complex we live in, it is called Lookout Pointe and it is on top of a mountain. (We will see how long we live in the winter driving up the hill). We can look out our back door and see a beautiful view of the valley and I mean beautiful! I especially like the lights at night. We have a swimming pool and lots of grass on a hill so the dog loves to play and get exercise which is really good for a pup with lots of energy. We are also excited to go Sledding in the winter with Nieces and Nephews. But besides that we are still not sure what we got ourselves into. It is on the top of a mountain, and we are not living by LDS people so we have heard about window shattering, attempted break ins, loud obnoxious parties, and drug busts. I hope it stays good for us cause we signed a one year lease.
"We do not live in Zion"!
Spencer is in School and is doing a lot of the things that he did at BYU-I but the credits didn't transfer so he gets to do it again. So far so good though as far as I know.
As a lot of you know, we do not have a car anymore, it has been wrecked for like three weeks now and we just finally found out today that it is totalled so we probably have to wait another 2 weeks before we get the check to go get another car, which I am really scared about, because I have never been car shopping before. I guess a new beginning means trying new things.

Trying new things is scary, but it's good for us...well, usually! I know you guys will find something good. Just remember you have us to run to when you need a shoulder to cry on or whatever. We love you! And we're SO glad you live by us now!
Hey Nic, it's Aunt Peg here. So you are living my home town. I wish I could say "that's great", but I won't. :)
Finding a job in Provo will be difficult if you're not a student. Employers have it quite good there because if they hire part-time people only, they don't have to pay benefits or vacation or sick leave, etc.
A couple of places I would suggest for full-time work would be (1) Provo City, as they work normal days and hours, (2) State of Utah, as they are similarly run and have offices all over, (3) contract employment, as they find you the job and provide benefits, even if the person you work for doesn't.
Uncle Joe and I have personally worked for state government many times in our careers. I have also worked contract positions for many years. So I can recommend them both.
State government is good because you can transfer among departments, it's stable work, and they have good benefits.
Contract work is also good because you tell them what you want/need and the recruiter does the leg work to find a position for you. Some contracts are short-term (3-12 mos), but some jobs lead to permanent positions if they like you. Other contracts are open-ended and can go on for years. If you don't like a job after you start work, you can tell your recruiter and they'll place you somewhere else.
Nic, here are a couple of recruiters in your area - their website has contact info.
o Labor Ready Recruiting

o Westaff Recruiting

Here are websites that may benefit your job search:
o Jobseekers Directory

o Craigslist - Provo

That's it for now. Let us know how things are going.
Oh! And if you want some good pizza, go to The Brick Oven, I think it's called. It used to be Heaps-o-Pizza when I lived there (hundreds of years ago)!
And for good Mexican food, go to El Azteca, it's not too far from where you live.
Hope these ideas help.
Sending hugs and good thoughts your way. We miss you! Give our best to Spencer.

Do you find that clients are psychological concerning your company? Place them on movie! That's the best way to display potential clients what it's like to buy from you - demonstrate to them how they are getting a life long connection with the organization that is currently shifting life throughout the country. Usually do not surrender if the very first treatment you attempt will not work. Give each remedy a few weeks before you decide to quit and move on to the following remedy. Discovering the right solution can take the time, but you will be glad you experienced this technique. Co67tless
